The **Metadata Compare** feature uses JavaScript to process comparisons between two sets of metadata files. This approach provides clear, visual indicators that make it easy to identify differences and alignment issues between environments.

### **Visual Indicators**

When comparing metadata, files are categorized and displayed using the following indicators:

### **Modified Files**

Files that exist in both lists but differ in content or properties display:

- A **yellow warning icon** next to the file name on the **right-hand side**

#### **Missing on the Right**

Files that exist only in the left list display:

- A duplicated file name on the **right-hand side**
- A **red error icon** (for example, a red “X”)

### **Missing on the Left**

Files that exist only in the right list display:

- A duplicated file name on the **left-hand side**
- The same **red error icon**

### **Comparison Logic**

The comparison process iterates through both metadata lists and dynamically applies color-coded HTML and CSS indicators. This ensures a clear, side-by-side view that highlights differences and helps quickly identify missing or modified metadata.
