### 🔹 Step 1: Extract the Backup & Recovery Package

1. Download the `bandr.zip` file from your Sesame Software distribution.
2. Extract the contents to your preferred directory on your local machine or server.

### 🔹 Step 2: Configure `application.properties`

Navigate to the extracted folder and open the `application.properties` file for editing.

You’ll need to specify connection settings for **one of the three supported database types**:

#### ✅ Supported Dialects

- **Oracle**
- **SQL Server**
- **PostgreSQL**

Below are the required settings for each:

#### 🔸 JDBC URLs

| Database | Property |
| --- | --- |
| SQL Server | `spring.datasource.hikari.jdbc-url=jdbc:sqlserver://{host}:{port};databaseName=RJBANDR;encrypt=true;trustServerCertificate=true;` |
| PostgreSQL | `spring.datasource.hikari.jdbc-url=jdbc:postgresql://{host}:{port}/RJBANDR` |
| Oracle | `spring.datasource.hikari.jdbc-url=jdbc:oracle:thin:@{host}:{port}/RJBANDR` |

#### 🔸 Driver Class Names

| Database | Driver Class Name |
| --- | --- |
| SQL Server | `com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver` |
| PostgreSQL | `org.postgresql.Driver` |
| Oracle | `oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver` |

#### 🔸 Hibernate Dialects

| Database | Hibernate Dialect |
| --- | --- |
| SQL Server | `spring.jpa.database-platform=org.hibernate.dialect.SQLServerDialect` |
| PostgreSQL | `spring.jpa.database-platform=org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect` |
| Oracle | `spring.jpa.database-platform=org.hibernate.dialect.OracleDialect` |

> ℹ️ Ensure all other database properties (username, password, schema, etc.) are configured according to your environment.

### 🔹 Step 3: Run the Application

#### On Windows

Navigate to the directory containing `bandr.jar`, then run:

```
swift
```

`java -jar bandr.jar --spring.config.location=file:"C:\\path\\to\\your\\application.properties" `

#### On Linux/macOS

From within the same directory, run:

```
bash
```

`java -jar bandr.jar --spring.config.location=file:$(pwd)/application.properties `

Once the application is running, open a browser and go to:

```
bash
```

`http://localhost:8080/admin/dashboard `

You should see the Backup and Recovery interface.

### 🔹 Step 4: Create and Run Your First Backup

1. Log into the web interface.
2. Create a new backup job.
3. Enter your **Salesforce connection details** (OAuth credentials, environment, etc.).
4. Select the **objects and fields** you want to include.
5. Save and **run the backup**.
